TO ALL PARISHIONERS – VERY IMPORTANT.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SCOPE.

March 30, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

The Corona 19 virus has provided our parish with an opportunity to renovate our church front stairs at a minimum inconvenience to all of our parishioners. This has been a pressing ‘must do’ project long overdue and awaiting an ideal opportunity to be implemented.

The Finance Committee already has put in place all of the necessary steps needed as follows:

A). gathered 3 estimates from 3 reputable companies;

B). submitted the quotes with recommended selection to the Archdiocesan Chancellor for Temporal Affairs and the Congregation of St. Charles Borromeo, and has secured both approvals for permission to start.

C). requested the Family of Faith Campaign (FOF) to release the funds collected for the Renovation of the Sanctuary, and which will now be used for the Renovation of the Front Stairs.

D). need to let our donors (parishioners and others) know that we will be reallocating the Family of Faith funds as stated above.

The Company (The Restorers Group Inc.) had given us a tentative date to commence work around the middle of May. With the arrival of the CORONA VIRUS the company has advised us that they will be willing to start in the beginning of April. This comes at a very convenient time to us, since the Church will be closed for at least a month. The whole project will take four months.

The Finance Committee has decided to go along with the new date and to start work as soon as possible.

I am most appreciative of your cooperation and I ask for your patience for any inconvenience that this project may create for the normal liturgical activities of the parish.

Thanking you in advance,

Rev. Walter Tonelotto, C.S., pastor

TOGETHER THROUGH DEATH TO RESURFRFECTION.

This year, even physically, we can walk together with Jesus to Calvary. The whole world is carrying the cross of fear, sickness and death. But if we walk with Jesus, then we will raise up with Him.

HOUSEKEEPING

Even though we are all centered on the spiritual meaning of this pandemic, we also have to take care of the Church. It is now 3 weeks that practically there is no income. The archdiocese has given us instructions to laid off all non-essential personnel and to take a 30% cut on the salaries of the priests. We know that many of you have lost your job and we understand; we also want to participate in this effort, through our sacrifice.

TWO WAYS BY WHICH YOU CAN HELP YOUR CHURCH IN THESE CRITICAL TIMES.

1 – You can go to our web site: www.stcatherine.ca and you can click the DONATE button and follow instructions. Those donations go straight to the church account. The secretary will also be able to register them to your envelope number.

2 – We are preparing an MAIL BOX in the door od SCALABRINI HALL (on the right side of the main entrance), where you can drop your envelopes at any time. We will collect them every day from behind the door.

A FEW SUGGESTIONS:

1 –A Prayer from the US Senate in Washington. FINALLY!!! https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=A56740CEBCE9434F&id=A56740CEBCE9434F%211819&parId=A56740CEBCE9434F%21514&o=OneUp

2 – AN HISTORICAL MOMENT OF POPE FRANCIS.
