NOVEMBER: What’s happening at St. Catherine s Siena

THE SIENA COURIER
Dear Parents, with this letter, I would like to start a new initiative, which we, the Parish of St. Catherine of Siena, are spearheading together with your Catholic Elementary School.
The aim is to form a triangle of cooperation and support, between family, school and church. This type of cooperation would be very beneficial to our children. So every month we will present through the school newsletter the “parish corner” where you will find the major news of the activities happening in our parish. We will try to be very brief, because time is critical for all of us.
So what is happening during the Month of November?
1 – The month begins with the great celebrations of ALL SAINTS and ALL SOULS. In many countries this is a very important celebration and it gives us the sense that we are still connected with the members of our family, who passed to the other life.
2 – Besides being ALL SOULS DAY, it is also the FIRST FRIDAY of the month and we have EUCHARISTIC ADORATION individually all day, and will close with a “community” special hour of adoration, after 7:00pm mass.
4 – It is PRO-LIFE SUNDAY and we will have Bishop Eustricky from Hamilton to celebrate a special Pro-Life Mass in our church at 4:00pm. In the afternoon (2-4:00pm) we will have out monthly meeting for Altar Servers. It is also the feast of St. Charles Borromeo, who is the patron saint of the Scalabrinians, who staff our parish.
ORDINARY ACTIVITIES.
– Every Monday night at 7:00pm we have RCIA (Spiritual Formation for the new Adult Catholics). On Tuesday nights (Nov. 6-13-30) at 7:30pm we have the PRE-CANA, Marriage Preparation Course. On Wednesdays we have the novena to the Blessed Mother of Perpetual Help. On Thursdays at 7:30pm we have the Adult Spiritual Formation.
– CONFIRMATION PREPARATION – We are in the middle of the 10 sessions preparation for the candidates to Confirmation (Grade 7). Very well received is the Program for PARENTS, which is offered at the same time the children are in class for catechism.
CONFESSIONS for the CHILDREN – Toward the end of the month we will have the confessions for the children in preparation to Christmas.
– THE YOUTH MINISTRY will continue with a new director. The Alpha Junior Friday evening meetings will continue.
