Parish Administration

Father Walter Tonelotto was born in Italy in 1947 and entered the Scalabrini Seminary at an early age. At 20 he was sent by his superiors to study Theology at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie, New York and then to the Toronto School of Theology. He holds a Master in Divinity from St. Paul’s University in Ottawa and a Master in Moral Theology from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University, New York City.

Fr. Walter spent his first 17 years of priesthood as a Teacher/Formation in the Scalabrinian seminaries of North America. As a missionary, he has worked in Mexico, Florida, Montreal, Canada and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was the pastor of St. James and St. Joseph Church in downtown New York City for 6 years and since 2013 the pastor of Our Lady of Pompeii. He was instrumental for bringing Radio Maria, 25 years ago, and worked for three years as the supervisor of the three corporations of Radio Maria, English, Spanish and Italian on a national level.

TELEMATER was the final and most important creation that Fr. Walter has begun at Our Lady of Pompeii, with the cooperation of a strong group of young Italian professionals. He is presently pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA.
