SIENA COURIER – What is happening in December.

DECEMBER at St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
(The Siena Courier).

– We begin the month with a PARISH RETREAT (December 1st from 9:00am to 12:00noon) to start together ADVENT in preparation to CHRISTMAS. The same night the Knights of Columbus will have their CHRISTAMS PARTY in the Main Hall after the 6:00pm mass.
– On December 8th, we will celebrate the 60th ANNIVERSARY of his Priesthood for Fr. Santo Cigolini, C.S. with a solemn mass at 6:00pm and then a reception (all sold out) in the main Hall.
– December 9, at 7:00pm (after mass) great SOCIAL FEAST for Our Lady of Guadalupe with food and Mariachi) in the Main Hall.
December 9-10-11 the TRIDUUM in preparation for the FEAST of Our Lady of GUADALUPE, during the evening mass at 7:00pm, which will be celebrated in Spanish. On December 12 great celebration in Church at 7:00pm. All welcome.
– SCHOOL ADVENT MASS: December 10 – Fr. Zanon School in school at 9:30am; December 11 – Mary Fix School in Church at 1:00pm; December 12 – St. Timothy School, in school at 9:30am.
– On December 15 we will start the GREAT CHRISTMAS NOVENA with three celebrations: In English at 6:30pm Mass in church; – in Spanish at 7:00pm in Scalabrini Hall, Mass, Novena & Posadas; – Sinbang Gagi (Filipino) at 7:30pm in Church, followed by social in the Main Hall.
– December 15 at 9:00am – 12:00 noon in the Main Hall we will have a RETREAT – INSTRUCTIONS for the Parents of children of First Communion. Very important to participate.
– CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS – December 23 – regular Sunday Schedule; December 24 – 8:00am Mass – 4:00pm (Family Vigil Mass – English) – 7:00pm – Spanish Vigil Mass – 10:00pm – SOLEMN MASS (English + Italian). On Christmas day: 8:30am – 10:00 (Italian) 11:30pm – 1:00pm – NO MASS at 4:00pm or 6:00pm.
– NEW YEAR’S CELEBRATIONS: December 30 = Regular Sunday Schedule; December 31st – End of the Year: 8:00am with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament; – At 4:00pm Eucharistic Adoration in Spanish; 7:00pm – Mass of Thanksgiving and closing of the Year with “Te Deum”. January 1st, 2019 = Regular Sunday Masses: 8:30am, 10:00am (Italian) 11:30am – 1:00pm – 4:00pm – 6:00pm (Spanish).

Father Walter Tonelotto was born in Italy in 1947 and entered the Scalabrini Seminary at an early age. At 20 he was sent by his superiors to study Theology at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie, New York and then to the Toronto School of Theology. He holds a Master in Divinity from St. Paul’s University in Ottawa and a Master in Moral Theology from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University, New York City.
