1. The year 2020 has been designated by Fr. Walter as a Year of the Eucharist at SCOS.  For the entire year, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed every Friday from the 8:00 am Mass to the 7:00 pm Mass.  We are asked to be part of the Adorers Squad by dedicating one hour a week for Eucharistic Adoration. You may sign up as a group or as individuals.  Sign up sheets for  all the Fridays in January are at the entrances of the Church.  Alternatively, you may send us an email indicating which Fridays and one-hour slots you would like to sign up for and we will put your name down on the sign up sheets.  The Fridays for January are 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st. Flyer attached.
  2. For those who would like to go deeper, we are asked to be part of the Prayer Warriors (The parish is like the monastery where people pray from their own cells – homes – at the same time.   Whenever you can, you may join us in Church where some of us are already praying.)   Here are the Moments of Prayer that Father Walter shared at  our potluck gathering last Thursday. We can do as little or as much as our schedule/state of life allows us:
    • Midnight – Begin the New Day – Holy Rosary
    • 3:00 am – Divine Mercy Chaplet (another Rosary)
    • 6:00 am – Wake at the sound of a Rosary, Matins,
    • 7:00 am – Lauds, Rosary, Mass, Divine Mercy Chaplet (these are all done as a community in Church but except for the Mass, you may do the others on your own)
    • 9:00 am – Meditation (Word sharing) – (a few of us gather after morning Mass with Fr Walter to reflect and share on the readings of the day.  Everyone is welcome to join us.
    • 12:00 noon – Angelus before lunch and Rosary after lunch
    • 3:00 pm – Divine Mercy Chaplet – Rosary – Vespers – Spiritual Reading
    • 6:00 pm – Rosary – (Mass)
    • 9:00 pm – Rosary – Compline
    • 12:00 midnight – A New Day
  3. Friday, January 10 to Sunday, January 19  – Novena in honor of the Holy Child (Sto Nino). Our Filipino brothers and sisters are especially encouraged to participate in this much loved Filipino devotion.

Please share the flyers with others.  Note that the Church address is not indicated on them.   St. Catherine of Siena Church is at 2340 Hurontario St. Mississauga. Telephone (905)272-1454.
